The Parker HopAholics were well represented at the second annual Parker Brewfest on Saturday, August 19 at O’Brien Park in downtown Parker. This year’s brewfest exceeded all expectations and is rapidly becoming one of the favorite events of its kind among area beer aficionados.
President Will Trail, along with Judy Kuenker and several members of the HopAholics Homebrew Club, staffed a tent to demonstrate the homebrewing process for interested fest-goers. While there were a lot of local and other breweries on had at the park, there was only one place where you could see beer actually being made!
Will’s prolific hop bines were working overtime and he brought a pile of Chinooks to use in a 5 gallon batch of Fresh Hop IPA. HopAholics members were on hand to explain the brewing process and swap beer stories. A grand time was had by all!
The Parker Brewfest is sponsored by the non-profit Cherry Creek Valley Rotary Club of Parker. One hundred percent of all proceeds go to support many local projects and organizations. Thanks to the CCV Rotary Club for its tremendous community involvement and generosity!
Among the various breweries that participated this year, we want to recognize those that have served as hosts for one or more of our monthly club meetings. These include: 105West Brewing, Barnett & Sons, Blue Spruce Brewing Co., Castle Rock Brewing Company, Dad & Dudes Breweria, Elk Mountain Brewing (soon to be Downhill Brewing!), Halfpenny Brewing, Hall Brewing Company, Lone Tree Brewing, and Two22 Brewing Company. The HopAholics look forward to maintaining our relationship with you!
