Welcome Home Brewery in Parker hosted a HopAholics Belgian Pale Ale competition on Saturday, May 19, with the objective of brewing the winning entry on their commercial system. Club members gathered bright and early to assist the Welcome Home brewers with their blind BJCP evaluation and to compare notes on the relatively unfamiliar style.
Glenn Berry‘s entry was selected as the winner, with Bob G coming in second and Dan Mendenhall taking the third spot. Turns out that Glenn had a pretty good weekend: his German Pils entry in the Lucha de Chela sponsored by the Cheluna Brewing Company took a silver medal in the “Lager/Light” class the next day.
Welcome Home will be brewing Glenn’s winning Belgian Pale Ale on Tuesday, June 25 beginning at 8AM and all HopAholics members are most welcome to attend and participate. If you would like to help out, please notify Will Trail so that he can let the brewers know to expect you.
Congratulations to Glenn Berry and thanks to all HopAholics who submitted Belgian Pale Ale entries for Welcome Home’s consideration!
